2 day Foundation Workshop

Date:              22^nd and 23^rd February 2017

Venue:          Access and Inclusion Centre, QE2 School,

Time:            9.30am – 4.30pm

Cost:               £150.00 for applicants from tri-borough maintained schools service and professionals and £200 for out of borough and non-maintained schools including buffet lunch and refreshments..

This course is recommended for people needing to learn and use Makaton to support children with speech, language and communication needs. It will be relevant for people working across a range of children’s settings e.g. children’s centers, nurseries and schools.

In this course you will:

• Know the history design and structure of the Makaton core and resource vocabulary.
• Be able to use the signs and symbols from stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and additional vocabulary
• Have knowledge of the different approaches available to develop the communication skills of a range of Makaton users.
