Protective Behaviours Taster Session
This event will take place between 4:00pm and 5:00pm on 18/01/2022
Presented by Carolyn Gelenter & Rachel Bailley
This is a brief introduction and overview of Protective Behaviours, which is a trauma informed approach to support resilience and well-being.
The Protective Behaviours framework supports adults to reflect on their own practice, and teaches children and young people the concept of safety and the skills of risk taking as opposed to risky behaviours.
Protective Behaviours meets the Ofsted requirement for teaching children and young people safeguarding skills, particularly Harmful Sexual Behaviours, and supports the new Statutory Regulations on Health, Relationships and Sex Education.
Participants will:
Know what Protective Behaviours is
Know about the 5 key elements
Learn about how we can create safe environments for adults and children
Understand how they can use and implement this framework to support safeguarding and well-being through building resilience.
