This course is designed to help teachers identify the signs of a language and communication need in the classroom.

Many of the behaviours of a pupil with SLCN are undetected or misidentified as a learning difficulty. This workshop will give you ways of checking whether the child has an SLCN and how to support them in the classroom. This may prevent the child having to eventually need a referral for a speech and language therapist. Effective classroom strategies may also help pupils who may otherwise go on to develop Developmental Language Disorder
