About the course

Literacy skills begin at birth and continue into the early school years. As reading and writing become more formal in the primary years this skill poses more of a challenge for deaf children. This course aims to help you develop the skills to identify where and why a child with hearing loss may be struggling with their literacy skills and offer strategies to support that child. The course is designed for educational staff with children working within the Early Years to Key Stage 2 curriculum, and will be split into two groups (Early Years/KS1 and KS1/KS2).
