Portobello Schoolyard, a new weekly food market is coming to Notting Hill on 13th November
With healthy, locally grown produce, delicious street food, a play area, seasonal events and educational workshops for families, Portobello Schoolyard will be Notting Hill’s new home for food and play.
Portobello Schoolyard is set to open every Saturday 10am-4pm in the beautiful grounds of Vicente Cañada Blanch Spanish School. Initially launching with 20 industry specialists - including award-winning farmers, boutique importers and world-famous chefs - Portobello Schoolyard will be a one-stop-shop for local residents to find everything from organic cucumbers and seasonal French cheeses to mouthwatering street food and bespoke homeware. The market is all about healthy, locally grown produce that comes direct from farmers, exciting street food for adults and children, and educational events to teach kids about the power of good food and where it comes from in a fun, family-friendly environment. The aim is to help parents teach their children about what goes into their bodies, and how the origins of their food can help with their health and development.
Portobello Schoolyard will provide a mix of retail, hospitality, education and entertainment so that every Saturday locals can use the space to do their weekly food shop; meet up with friends; stop for breakfast or lunch; browse independent craft makers; listen to live music; and get involved in a range of activities and educational events. The picturesque schoolyard will be a bustling social hub where the local community can shop, eat and play throughout the day, plus with a playground for the kids it will be a lovely day out for the whole family.
